Cavalier "27" Late 40's
This machine held 27 Bottles
From what we know only 2000 of these machines were made. All the parts were intact allowing us to do an authentic restoration. We started by stripping each and every part off the machine and then stripping the paint. Then each part was individually restored to its original condition. The body panels were then straightened and given a new paint job with all the embossed lettering done by hand. Our re-assembly began with new insulation. Then the pan (inside) was re installed after being cleaned and checked. A new inside lid cover was made in the shop along with the body breaker strips and a new body gasket, in this case our R20 were installed at the same time. The pre-cool basket was zinc plated as was the drum. New insulation was installed in the machine and things started going back together. We did install a new empty lens P18 as the old one was melted because a standard night light bulb had been used. Our bulb P14 is shorter and more rounded therefore allowing more space between the bulb and lens. We also installed a new lock with 2 keys HP20S. Changing the lock does not devalue the machine! The compressor system was thoroughly checked over, bead blasted, flushed, repainted and a new thermostat, EP18 was installed. The cooling system was able to stay a true R12. As you can see it has new condenser fan motor. Every machine is re-wired. The wiring harness is our EP16. A new compressor tag, HP65A was also needed. This machine had the drip pan HP32C still in it and in good condition. The coin mechanism was also disassembled, gold chromated and put back together to factory specifications along with the patent decals D64 and D65. Lastly we applied the decals to the machine. Our D3W bottle opener and coin return decal for the main door. On the inside of the main door we applied a new wiring diagram D90. There is also a 5C decal available to “jazz up the machine” D108. While labor is a key element in any restoration our large supply of reproduction vending machine parts such as the door gasket, decals, breaker strips, locks, compressor parts brought this vintage vending machine back to life! We are known as specialists on this model. No one has restored more Cavalier 27’s than we have.
